REPEX
Repeated End-range Passive EXercise
The REPEX is a result of collaboration between Robin McKenzie, a famous Physical Therapist from New Zealand, and Howard Hill, President of Hill Laboratories Company. The table was developed for the treatment of mechanical low back pain. This is defined as back and leg pain (sciatica) that consistently changes with movements of the spine. Often, patients with mechanical low back pain can lessen or even eliminate their symptoms with specific repeated motions into either flexion or extension. Normally, this exercise must be performed by the patient, which can prove very tiring, often inhibiting rapid recovery. The REPEX was designed to apply these movements while the patient lies comfortably on the table.

Often patients will experience their pain moving out of their leg while the table moves them comfortably through their specific range of motion. The patient is able to lie on the table while it soothingly moves their back in a manner that decreases pain, relieves pressure off of nerve roots, and reduces disc bulging. This fosters an improved environment for healing, hastening the reparative process. The table can also be used to improve range of motion in those with joint stiffness or even post surgically once the surgeon prescribes physical therapy. The REPEX table can significantly hasten the recovery process for patients with the following conditions:
- Herniated discs
- Sciatica
- Radiculopathy or nerve root compression
- Lumbar stenosis
- Facet syndrome
- Spondylolisthesis
- Post surgical recovery from low back surgery
